Lived in six countries and traveled across fifty-something nations, it goes without saying that Joanna has always been curious about different cultures and their wonders. She grew up in Sweden, in a town connecting Denmark with just a bridge.
Settled in the vibrant London in 2015, Joanna’s passion for electronic music and dance culture was expressed by commencing a career as a DJ. This was further developed through academic studies in Music and Sound Design. In 2019 she released her debut EP Plastic Politician and is currently working on a new boundary-breaking album.
It came naturally for Joanna to channel her curiosity and experience with various cultures through her passion for electronic music. Influences from acid house, techno and disco mixed with rhythms inspired by travels in Africa, South America, Middle East and beyond, have become Joanna’s signature sound.
A common thread in everything she does is the aim of creating cultural bridges through electronic music, whether it is on gigs, releases, collaborations or radio shows. As a result, Joanna was awarded 2019’s Culture Grant in her Swedish hometown.
